The Hotel was built in 1862 and was formerly a house to a very wealthy merchant. Situated very close to Edinburgh city centre and the famous Port of Leith, this residence was ideal for wealthy Edinburgh merchants who needed to be only a short distance from all the city had to offer.

Today, as a busy 3 star Hotel, guests enjoys a tranquil retreat which is only minutes away from the hustle and bustle of the city centre. So. you get the best of all worlds really. Very cheap prices, very comfortable bedrooms, a breakfast to satisfy even the most discerning and access to all the attractions within minutes.

Our private cark, with space for around 7 cars, is very popular with guests. As you might expect, it's absolutely free and is secured by way of an electric gate. Guest can use a remote to have the freedom of using their car if they wish.
